Multiple myeloma is a type of blood cancer that affects some racial and ethnic groups, like Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, and American Indian/Alaska Native communities, more often and differently than others. Improving care for these groups means understanding cultural differences, building trust, and making sure they have access to the latest treatments and support.
This paper supports SDG 3 and 10 by provide evidence that societal cultural stress can increase the risk of lifetime bipolar disorder onset in youth growing up as a minoritized group.
Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae) in Southeast Alaska have been studied for over 50 years, and are largely considered a recovery success since the cessation of commercial whaling. To further sustain this success we need to improve our knowledge of how these giants reproduce. The authors developed an effective strategy for monitoring the hormone levels in a challenging natural environment.

As the upcoming generation occupies a larger portion of the workforce, issues around the topic of diversity will only continue to grow in importance. Not only is Generation Z more racially and ethnically diverse than previous generations, but members of this generation are also more likely to expect employers to actively work toward cultivating diversity in the workplace. The recent DIAL Global Diversity Review, co-sponsored by XpertHR, presents comprehensive data on the practices being used to promote diversity in the workplace today. This report addresses various facets of diversity from gender and ethnicity to socioeconomic status and parenthood, promoting SDGs 5, 8 and 10.
Public policy and linked social action must address the structural or intermediary social determinants of health. Though policy decisions or reform is one of the social action approaches, the programmatic, regulatory, and community development approaches need to be efficiently used. The COVID-19 pandemic expedited and facilitated collaboration with people outside the health sector. Such established and better-performing collaborations and social actions need continuation and expansion to other areas for better health and well-being. The national and subnational multisectoral action plan and its effective implementation can facilitate the “Health in All Policies” and address most of the social determinants of health.
To ensure sustainability, vertical or disease-specific programs or projects (government funded or external funded) should not develop standalone community participation interventions. They should be mandated to build on the existing social capital. The untied funds required for implementation of decentralized decision-making should be released in a timely manner without needless audit objections. Communities are not going to go anywhere. Hence, we need consistence in policy concerning community participation and patience from the administrators to implement community participation holistically with realistic sustainable short-term process indicators, while the focus is on medium- and long-term goals, including SDG3.
Using brain tissue from donors with Alzheimer's disease, Anderson et al. identify new links between gene regulation and disease. These regulators could represent future clinical targets or disease markers for Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment.

This article discusses ways this ruling may affect corporate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) program and also embolden some states to take further aim at DEI initiatives, and in so doing promote SDGs 5, 8 and 10.
