This research conducted semi-structured interviews to investigate how secondary school students in England make sense of different creative uses of metaphor and metonymy in a sample of slogans shared on social media for the Global Climate Strikes and #FridaysForFuture. The findings suggest that different creative uses prompted different kinds of thinking about climate change and its relevance to students’ personal lives.
This article ties to SDG3 by examining heat- cardiopulmonary mortality
This is the first study to demonstrate the impact of endometriosis on adipose tissue in women, affecting browning and inflammation pathways in visceral fat.
This study demonstrates that the Psychological Telephone Triage System (PTT) is an effective and cost-efficient method for early identification of patients with urgent cognitive impairment, particularly in the context of Alzheimer’s disease (AD), helping to reduce unnecessary on-site visits and healthcare burden. The findings suggest that implementing this interdisciplinary pre-screening and triage process can improve management of the rising demand for dementia assessments, especially with new therapeutic options and increasing prevalence of dementia globally.
The study explores democratisation processes that aim to increase popular control over the production of urban food environments. Based on a case study of East-Central London and using assemblage thinking as an analytical framework, this article explores how more democratic food environments are being (dis)assembled. Our findings highlight the complexity of (dis)assembling practices, which are shaping a partial and fragile version of urban (food) democracy, shifting control away from capitalist structures but, at the same time, relying on state's support for co-designing and co-managing democratic food environments.
