The “Unified Information System on Basins and Water in Mexico” (SIUCAM) Project after carrying out diagnoses of water data and information generators established contact with the key water stakeholders in four basins of the country in order to strengthen the project’s web Platform. This chapter centers on the pilot experience in the coastal Jamapa River Basin, Veracruz, Mexico. The chapter’s main objective is to describe the process of construction of a unified information system for the preservation of water resources. The study revealed the importance of the existence of “nodes” in each region to invigorate information exchange and the stakeholder’s interaction. These act as links and maintain the relation of trust with key stakeholders in order to successfully operate a data and information management model. The process evidenced the interest of key stakeholders from different sectors in collaborating for the development of this unified system, a condition for its continuity.
