2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, which provides a roadmap towards gender equality. While some progress has been made over the years, equal rights and opportunities for women and girls have never been under greater threat than in the current geopolitical climate. Women's health is a critical component of achieving gender equality but for too long has been merely a fleeting focus. The Lancet Obstetrics, Gynaecology, & Women's Health pledges its commitment to improving the lives of half the world's population by acting as their voice and serving as a platform for continued advocacy on their behalf.
