The article emphasizes the vital role of midwives in addressing reproductive health needs, especially during humanitarian crises, and highlights the importance of investing in their education and training. Research shows that well-educated midwives can significantly improve maternal and child health outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance care satisfaction. Despite the proven benefits, some Scandinavian countries are facing challenges in maintaining midwifery education standards and empowering midwives to work fully within their competencies. Ultimately, enhancing midwifery education and practice is crucial for fostering health equity and improving community well-being. This aligns with the UN SDG goals of Good Health and Well-Being (Goal 3) by promoting healthy lives and ensuring access to essential health services.
