Currently a research professor at China university of Petroleum (Beijing), professor Zhao also serves as vice director of State Key Laboratory of Heavy Oil processing. She has been engaged in teaching and research in the field of clean oil and gas production for decades, who was supported by the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and Excellent Young Scientists Fund.
She is the author of more than 110 scientific articles in international journals with high impact factor; she has been authorized 48 Chinese invention patents and 8 international patents. Her academic achievements have won a second prize of National Technological Invention Award, a first prize and a second prize of Technological Invention Award as well as a Youth Science and Technology Outstanding contribution Award given by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) and a Hou Debang Chemical Science and Technology Youth Award. She is also an associate editor of《Petroleum Science》, a member of the editorial board of《Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering》, a member of the 41st Council and the vice Chairman of Youth Working Committee of the Chemical Industry and Engineering Society of China (CIESC), and a member of the first Committee for Female scientific and technical workers Committee of CIESC.
