Preferably, schools must be situated in a favorable environment. There are many factors that affects the teaching and learning process. As stated in Stanley, Emmanuel, & Igboh, 2017 closeness of the home-to-school distance is among the prime criteria that influence parents about the selection of a school for their children, academic achievement of students, absenteeism and dropout from school. This might be one of the reason many governmental and non-governmental organizations build schools around residence area. However, there are many students still suffered from long home-to-school distance in most developing countries like Eritrea. Therefore, the home-to-school distance is very important to be considered, when planning school location.
